TASHKENT. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Projects for building a solar power plant and energy storage systems involving Chinese companies have been launched in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. A solar power plant valued at $240 million will be built together with China Datang in the Boka district, the presidential press service said.
ACWA Power has reached a financial close for the US$533 million 200 MW solar plant and a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
An industrial textile park will be built on 69 ha in the Yuqorichirchiq district with investment standing at $350 million. More than 20 enterprises will be located there and will produce yarn, dyed fabric and finished textile products. A total of $1 billion was invested in the Tashkent region in 2023, the press service said.
